About the Maryland Association of Teacher Educators (MATE)
We Are Educators
MATE membership includes groups of teacher educators from Community Colleges, Colleges and Universities, as well as schools in Maryland and DC who come together to recognize and share quality work in teacher preparation.
We Empower
MATE seeks to keep members updated regarding national movements and reform efforts in teacher education. We are also committed to recognizing the work in teacher preparation and teacher development which involves P-12 teachers, staff development specialists and university faculty. All those who engage in this work are considered teacher educators whether they are school or university-based.
We are the State Unit of the Association of Teacher Educators
As the state unit of the national Association of Teacher Educators, MATE is committed to improving the quality of teacher preparation and teacher professional development.
